What is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is the method of hair removal that uses a very fine needle, no bigger than your hair follicle, in which heat and electricity flow down and, along with the moisture of your skin, cause an acidic substance called lye to pool in the follicle. This substance causes the strand to be killed or weakened. Tweezers then remove the hair completely. Because hair can only be killed in one growth stage, multiple appointments are needed to reach that stage. This method is the only FDA-approved method and works with all skin types and hair colors.
Why Electrolysis?
Compared to other forms of hair removal, there are minimal side effects. Some may experience redness or swelling in the treated area, but it will disappear within a few hours to days. Other than that, there aren’t many side effects. Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis can work with all hair colors and skin types.
